MEET SERPENT DANCE ICON CLASSES

She will forever be the princess of Pop and I don't care who claims to be "the next Britney Spears".
I always looked up to Britney growing up. In fact, little Kiki (yes, my family nickname) would put on her mom's lipstick and perform this exact song to her reflection in the mirror (I still do this lol). I would watch her music videos religiously, back in the day we had that sh*t on dvd, and study the way that Brit would play with the camera....how she would perform...how she would dance. Britney herself was heavily inspired by those that came before her, Janet Jackson, for example. And you can tell. She knew how to work. And she exceled at it. She was insanely passionate about her work and it is easy to see. I think a large part of my performance skills are directly influenced by her. Because she used to be my only point of reference back in the day as she was the only woman in Pop that I truly looked up to.
I would always admire how she was so confidently sexy and strong, a true Femme Fatale, something that she was unfortunately heavily shamed for at the time. It's funny how people look back in awe now, even though she was so heavily criticized for just being who she was back then. She changed Pop forever. And still to this day, everyone is trying to be "the next Britney". Stop trying! It's been done!

For Serpent Dance's first anniversary in December 2024, I launched a fourth Serpent Dance class: The Icon class. An addition to the 4 emotion-based core classes that Serpent Dance classes consist of (Red Aries, Blue Moon, Golden Light and Orange Venus).

I grew up listening to and watching icons. I luckily was raised by a set of parents that provided me with an abundance of music, many different genres and styles. This is what shaped by own artistry and inspired me to venture out into this vast world of creation to pursue my own career within the arts. I have always been inspired by the Greats. I thought long and hard about how to properly honor this part of me as part of Serpent Dance.
And then it came to me.
And I am incredibly happy I now have even more reasons to "spend time" with my icons.

⭐️MEET ICON CLASSES

These classes will bring you closer to many icons and their respective genres in music. I strongly believe that each and every artist in this world has something valuable to say, and that we should always make an effort to listen. What do our icons have to say? What was their message? What made them so special that we still talk about them today? In this class we dance to iconic songs by iconic artists. We learn from and about them - about their approaches to their artistry and how we can fruitfully integrate that into our own, into our dancing, and maybe even into our lives. Let them work through you through the 4 planes of existence that I work with in Serpent Dance (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual)
The icons that we still talk about today were all people with a dream at some point. Don't ever forget that. They were human. They had feelings. They felt pain. They alchemized.
Let's watch the masters at work and learn.
